The Indonesian Portable Communications Community (K2PI) with the Indonesian DMR Network (DMRID)
K2PI is a community for anyone who wants to communicate on the move and is curious about everything Digital Mobile Radio (DMR). All K2PI activity runs on the Indonesian DMR Network, built and run by PT. Digital Mobile Radio Indonesia (DMRID): servers, the member database, vocoders, apps and the portal are all fully available to members.
It began in 2018, when the DMR system and database were first built, and Talkgroup 555 K2PI Nasional was born on 20 October 2021. Since October 2026 every regional server runs on the new system: dmrid_link as the DMR server, dmrid_bridge for the apps, and a virtual AMBE-3003 vocoder that turns app audio into DMR audio right on the server.
Why Join K2PI
A Trusted Identity
Every account is bound to a DMR ID, callsign and password. DMR IDs follow the region, from district up to national level, so every speaker can be recognised.
One National Network
Regional servers are linked through two hubs. A call from one region is heard in every other region, with two dashboards to watch the traffic.
Any Device Works
Android phones, POC handhelds, tablets, Android TV, Windows PCs, DMR radios with a hotspot, even analog radios through a gateway. No expensive equipment needed.
Light on Data and Reliable
App audio travels as data-saving Opus, the apps reconnect on their own, and virtual vocoders add capacity without any dongle.
Ready for Emergencies
SIDGAB talkgroups open to every group, BMKG earthquake alerts, field video reports and a members map support coordination in a disaster.
A Lively Community
A monthly TG 555 operator ranking with e-Certificates, logbook and eQSL, messages and letters between members, and a digital member card (e-KTA).

Our Role in Disasters and Neighbourhood Watch
K2PI and the radio organisations act as a Communication Volunteer Team that supports BPBD, BASARDA and the joint teams before and after a disaster. With a portable crossmode DMR Gateway and a portable Starlink, network talkgroups can be linked to the local analog radio frequency even when the area has lost power and internet.
In neighbourhoods, the Siskamling Communication System lets the village Three Pillars and residents stand by on the siskamling channel with an Android phone, so every emergency call is heard at once and answered quickly.
