A guide to DMR-ID-DVS v1.35 in Normal Mode (phones) and Mini Mode (PoC handhelds): what is new in v1.35, v1.34 and v1.33, how to change your callsign, how to switch channels or talkgroups, the Map & location sharing, TG555 video for coordination and disaster response, the dmrid.online portal features linked to the app, and common questions. Wide Mode (tablet / Android TV) works the same way as Normal Mode.
What is new in v1.35
Just install it over the old version – your User Profile, channels, per-channel callsigns and settings stay safe.
Since v1.34
Just install it over the old version – your User Profile, channels, per-channel callsigns and settings stay safe.
Since v1.33
Two ways to listen: Channels and Talkgroups
Channel Mode ALL ACCOUNTS
The app's 36 built-in channels (K2PI Nasional, SIDGAB, RAPI, YBLand, Area-0 to Area-9 and more) + PARROT. Each channel may use a different callsign, set in that channel's settings.
Talkgroup Mode BETA
The Talkgroup tab: every TG in the Talkgroup List (±8,900 TGs from 17 organisations) plus Global Amateur TGs, no channel needed. Uses one callsign: the active profile in the Profile tab. Opened step by step by the admins; if it is not open for your account yet, the Talkgroup tab is hidden.
Callsign rules apply to both: RAPI TGs / channels are for JZ callsigns only, amateur TGs / channels for YB–YH only, and SIDGAB TGs are open to every group. A callsign that does not match is rejected by the server.
Changing your callsign
The callsign comes from your User Profile (callsign, password and DMR ID of your dmrid.online account). The app can store several profiles, for example a PC callsign and a YB callsign.
Adding or editing a profile
- Normal Mode: Profil tab → Account card → Kelola profil (add / edit / delete).
- Mini Mode: press OK → Profil → Kelola profil...
- Enter the callsign, password and DMR ID exactly as in your dmrid.online account, then save. Use the account password (the same as for hotspots), not the web login password.
In Channel Mode CHANNEL
Normal Mode
- Channel screen → Channel button (channel list).
- Tap the channel name you want to change → Edit Channel window.
- Pick the callsign under “Callsign (profil operator utk channel ini)” → save.
- Press Connect on that channel.
Mini Mode
- Connect to the channel first.
- Press OK → Profil → choose the callsign with ▲▼ → OK.
- The channel reconnects right away with the new callsign, and the callsign is remembered for that channel.
Since v1.33 the per-channel callsign is kept when the app is updated.
In Talkgroup Mode TALKGROUP
Normal Mode
- Profil tab → Account card → tap the callsign to use (shown when you have more than one profile).
- Go back to the Talkgroup tab → pick a TG → Dengarkan (Listen). The new callsign is used from the next TG you pick.
Mini Mode
- Press OK → Profil → choose the callsign → OK.
- The current TG reconnects right away with the new callsign.
Favourites and static TGs are stored in the account of the active callsign.
Switching channel or talkgroup – Normal Mode (phone)
Header: DMRID + status, the 🦜 Parrot button, speaker, 🎥 Video streaming (since v1.35; theme is under Profil → Tampilan), exit. The Channel screen has the active channel / TG card with the TG & CH buttons side by side, the ON AIR card, the Last Heard card (tap = QSO Logger) and the PTT button.
| Bottom menu | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Channel | The main radio screen (ON AIR, PTT). |
| Talkgroup (TG mode) Daftar CH 🌐 (CH mode) | The 2nd tab follows the TG / CH button on the channel card: TG mode opens the Talkgroup list, CH mode (or when Talkgroup Mode is not open yet) opens the Channel List to pick a channel and manage accounts & per-channel callsigns. |
| Online | Who is connected on this channel. |
| Profil | Accounts, display, Talkgroup Mode, video, map & location, all settings. |
Swipe to switch quickly NEW v1.33
- On the channel card pick the mode: CH (channels) or TG (Favourite talkgroups). The active mode is highlighted.
- Swipe left on the ON AIR card or the channel card (since v1.35) = next channel/TG, swipe right = previous.
- TG mode can only be chosen when Talkgroup Mode is active and you have Favourite TGs; otherwise the app shows “Belum ada TG favorit / Mode Talkgroup belum aktif”.
- This CH/TG choice is the same one used by ▲▼ in Mini Mode.
From the lists CHANNEL / TALKGROUP
- Channel button: pick a channel → Connect (the active channel is red). Audio test: the 🦜 button in the header (press again to go back).
- Talkgroup tab: search by number/name/city, filter Semua · Favorit · DMRID · RAPI · Amatir, tap a TG → Dengarkan (Listen). Tap ☆ for Favourites.
- A TG that has a channel is played through that channel automatically (CH mode); other TGs go through the talkgroup gateway (TG mode).
- The Didengar sekarang (Listening now) box shows the static and dynamic TGs you are hearing.
QSO Logger: tap the Last Heard card. Since v1.33 the ON AIR card is used for swiping, so tapping ON AIR no longer opens the logger.
Switching channel or talkgroup – Mini Mode (PoC handheld)
Mini screen: channel / TG name, status and battery percentage at the top, ON AIR with a large callsign in the middle, key hints at the bottom. Everything is done with the handheld's keys:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| ▲ ▼ | Next / previous channel, or next / previous Favourite TG – following your last choice (see below). The switch happens a moment after the key is released. |
| OK | Menu: Classic screen, Favourite Talkgroups, Channels, Parrot, Online, Last Heard, QSO LOG, Profile, Settings, Check for updates, Exit. |
| ◀ | Favourite TG list (or the channel list if Talkgroup Mode is not active). |
| ▶ | Who is online on this channel. |
| 0–9 | Type a TG number, then OK = listen right away; it is added to Favourites automatically. |
| PTT | Talk on the current channel / TG. |
Make ▲▼ switch channels CHANNEL
- Press OK → Channel → choose a channel → OK.
- From then on ▲▼ moves between channels. The hint at the bottom reads “▲▼ ganti channel”.
Make ▲▼ switch Favourite TGs TALKGROUP
- Add Favourite TGs first: from a phone (Talkgroup tab → ☆ Favorit, same account) or by typing a TG number on the handheld and pressing OK.
- Choose one TG from ◀ Favourites (or type its number).
- From then on ▲▼ moves between Favourite TGs. The hint reads “▲▼ ganti TG” and the position (e.g. 3/5) is shown top right.
Prefer the old look? Press OK → Layar klasik (v1.30) (the first item). On the classic screen, switch channels with the channel number row and Favourite TGs with the TG button at the start of that row. Back to the new screen: the Setting icon at the top of the classic screen → Tampilan (Display) card → switch Layar Mini klasik (v1.30) off.
Physical Channel Dial NEW v1.35
Devices with a rotary channel-selector knob (Caraka 22, Hytera P50 / P50 Pro and similar) can change channel or TG by turning the dial – in Normal, Mini and Wide Mode (new screens).
Turning it on SETTINGS
- Open Settings → the Dial Channel Fisik box.
- Press Scan on the Putar Kiri (turn left) row, then turn the dial left. Repeat for Putar Kanan (turn right).
- If the device only reports the dial position (like the Caraka 22), choose a mode: Step, Reversed step or Position = channel number, then save.
- The dial works while the app is in the foreground; to use it while the app is in the background, enable the PTT Accessibility Service (on Android 13+ first allow it via App info → ⋮ → Allow restricted settings).
What it switches CH / TG
- CH mode: the dial switches channels.
- TG mode (Talkgroup Mode on and you have Favourite TGs): the dial switches Favourite TGs.
Caraka 22 is tested. Other models (e.g. Hytera P50 / P50 Pro) use key codes or Scan and are not yet tested – please report results to the admin.
Online Members Map & location sharing
Useful for team coordination and so that you can be found when you need help. All logged-in members see each other on the map.
Location sharing ALWAYS ON (v1.33)
- Since v1.33 location sharing is always on in every mode (Normal, Mini, Wide) for safety and coordination. The Profil → Peta & Lokasi card shows its status.
- When the app opens for the first time, allow location access. If you skipped it, tap Berbagi lokasi saya on the Peta & Lokasi card to be asked again.
- To keep sending while the screen is off: phone Settings → Apps → DMRID → Permissions → Location → Allow all the time (if your phone offers it).
- Make sure GPS is on (outdoors gets a fix faster). The position is sent at most once a minute.
- To turn it off: remove the app's Location permission in phone Settings. There is no off switch inside the app.
Seeing members on the map
- In the app (Normal Mode): Profil → Peta & Lokasi → Buka Peta rekan online.
- In the portal: log in at dmrid.online → Home → Map. Works on phone or PC, also for members who use a handheld.
- Green dot = online, orange = transmitting (blinking), grey = recent location but not detected online.
- Tap a dot to see the callsign & name.
The location uses the on-air account (the account of the connected channel). Locations older than 15 minutes are not shown. The guest account PC00CA does not send a location.
TG555 video – disaster response & team coordination
Since v1.35 Mini Mode can stream video too when the device has a camera and a large enough screen (detected automatically): OK → Streaming video. Without a camera or with too small a screen the menu item does not appear.
Normal Mode on TG555. While you transmit, the device camera can send live video to other members – useful for reporting field conditions during a disaster or coordinating a team. Open to all members using app v1.33 or later (front camera); video is only sent after you turn on the Video streaming switch. Transparent: while video is sent you always see your own camera on screen. Video is not stored on the phone or the server.
Video streaming switch OFF BY DEFAULT
- Open Profil → Video (TG555) card.
- Streaming video (kirim & terima) – off by default.
- Off: no camera is sent while you transmit and partner video is not shown while you receive (saves data & privacy), even if the admin allowed it.
- On: sends the camera while you transmit (if allowed by the admin) and shows partner video while you receive.
While video runs
- Requirements: app v1.33 or later in Normal Mode, and your Video streaming switch is on. Admins can block a specific account if it is misused.
- Hold PTT on TG555 → video is sent automatically and stops when you release PTT (or when the server's time limit is reached).
- A button on the preview switches between front and back camera.
- Allow location + turn GPS on so the coordinates and address appear on the video screen.
- Video uses mobile data; use Wi-Fi when you can.
Video icon on caller-ID NEW v1.34
The mark appears only when the speaker who is ON AIR is also sending video. Speakers without video get no mark.

Admin features linked to the app: Talkgroup Mode (opens the Talkgroup tab per account / beta / all members) and TG555 Video (all v1.33+ members or per member, default camera, blocking accounts) are set in the portal's Admin Panel. Contact your regional admin if they need to be opened for your account.
Frequently asked questions
The Talkgroup tab does not appear in my app.
Talkgroup Mode is still in testing and is opened step by step by the admins. Make sure the active profile uses a dmrid.online account (not the guest account PC00CA), then open the Profil tab → Sinkron sekarang (Sync now). If it says the feature is not open for your account yet, contact your regional admin. Channels keep working as usual.
Swiping on the ON AIR card does not change the TG.
Make sure the TG button on the channel card is highlighted. TG mode needs Talkgroup Mode to be active and at least one Favourite TG. When CH is highlighted, swiping changes channels. Swipe horizontally and far enough.
Where did the QSO log button on the ON AIR card go?
The QSO Logger opens by tapping the Last Heard card (since v1.34 the LOG button row is gone to keep the screen compact). The ON AIR card is used for swiping between channels/TGs. In Mini Mode: tap the ON AIR area or OK → LOG QSO.
How do I turn location sharing off?
Since v1.33 location sharing is always on for safety and coordination. To stop it, remove the DMRID app's Location permission in phone Settings. Your last position disappears from the map after 15 minutes.
I do not appear on the Map.
Check that the Location permission is granted, GPS is on, the app is connected with a dmrid.online account (not PC00CA), and wait up to a minute. Indoors GPS can take a while. If nothing is sent while the screen is off, choose Allow all the time in the Location permission.
Partner video is not shown / my camera is not sent.
Video works on TG555 in Normal Mode (and, since v1.35, in Mini Mode on devices with a camera and enough screen). Turn it on with the 🎥 icon in the front-screen header (Normal) or OK → Streaming video (Mini); off by default. Make sure the app is v1.33 or later and the app's Camera permission is granted. If it still is not sent, your account may be blocked by an admin or TG555 video may be switched off.
I get “TG ... ditolak server” (rejected) or cannot transmit on a TG.
Your callsign does not match that TG's rule: RAPI TGs are JZ only, amateur TGs YB–YH only. Switch to a profile with a matching callsign (see Changing your callsign) or choose another TG. SIDGAB TGs are open to every group.
I get “Belum ada TG aktif” (no active TG) when pressing PTT.
No talkgroup is selected yet. Pick a TG first (Normal Mode: Talkgroup tab → Dengarkan; Mini Mode: ◀ Favourites or type a TG number), then press PTT.
I switched TG but still hear another TG.
That is a static TG of your account (set in Hotspot Saya or in the app: Profil → Ubah TG statis), or another dynamic TG whose 15 minutes have not run out. Check the Didengar sekarang box in the Talkgroup tab. All dynamic TGs can be dropped with TG 4000.
What is the difference between static and dynamic TGs?
Static TGs are always heard without selecting them (max. 10 per slot). Dynamic TGs start when you select or talk on them and end by themselves 15 minutes after last use. Static TGs are shared by your hotspot and the app on the same account.
How do I set static TGs from the app?
Profil tab → TG statis (Hotspot Saya) card → Ubah TG statis. Fill TS1 / TS2 (comma separated) and save; it takes effect within about 1 minute. Leave both empty to return to the server defaults.
I changed my password in the portal and the app cannot connect.
If you changed the Account Password, also update the password in the app's User Profile (and on your hotspot). If you only changed the Web Login Password, the app is not affected.
My favourites disappeared after changing phones or reinstalling.
Favourites are stored in your dmrid.online account. Sign in with the same profile, then open the Profil tab → Sinkron sekarang (Sync now).
On the handheld, ▲▼ switches TGs but I want channels (or the other way round).
▲▼ follows your last choice. Pick a channel via OK → Channel to make ▲▼ switch channels; pick a TG via ◀ Favourites to make ▲▼ switch TGs.
The rotary dial on my device does not change channel.
Open Settings → Dial Channel Fisik, press Scan and turn the dial. If only “channel=n” (the dial position) appears, choose the Step or Position mode. If no code appears at all, report the brand / model to the admin.
The ▲▼ or OK keys on my handheld do nothing.
Some handheld brands send different key codes. Use the Layar klasik (v1.30) classic screen for now and report your handheld brand / model to the admins so it can be added.
Changing the callsign has no effect on talkgroups.
In Normal Mode the new callsign is used from the next TG you pick: open the Talkgroup tab → pick a TG → Dengarkan. In Mini Mode, changing it via OK → Profil reconnects right away.
My callsign on a particular channel is wrong.
In Channel Mode the callsign is set per channel. Open the channel list, tap that channel's name, change Callsign (profil operator utk channel ini), save, then Connect. Since v1.33 this choice is not reset by updates.
How do I go back to the old look (v1.30)?
Normal Mode: Profil tab → Tampilan → Layar Radio klasik (v1.30). Mini Mode: OK → Layar klasik (v1.30). All features remain in both looks.
What does the 🎥 VIDEO icon on caller-ID mean?
The speaker who is ON AIR is also sending video on TG555. In Normal Mode, turn on the 🎥 icon in the front-screen header (Video streaming) to watch it; tap the VIDEO LIVE badge to reopen a video you closed. In Mini Mode the icon is only a mark; the video is not received. See Video icon.
What do the clock, flag and red dot on the ON AIR card mean?
The clock at the top left is the speaker's local time based on their city / country, the flag at the top right is their country, and the red dot next to the clock means the speaker is a LoTW user.
